Is Perplexity Pro worth it?

Q: Is Perplexity Pro worth it?

Yes, if you use Perplexity every day as a search engine with sources and need more in-depth research. For occasional searches the free version is enough. Max is only worth it for very intensive use.

Perplexity Pro costs €22.00 a month including VAT, or €19.08 on the annual plan. Above it sits Perplexity Max at €229.00.

What does Pro add over Free?

The free version answers questions with sources but limits in-depth searches and model choice. Pro raises these limits considerably and lets you choose between several strong models.

Annual plan and students

On the annual plan you save €35.00 a year. For students, Perplexity offers a discounted education plan.

Alternatives

ChatGPT Plus (€23.00) and Google AI Pro (€21.99) also have web search and research features built in. If you also write or code a lot besides searching, one of these subscriptions is often the better choice.
