When Copilot is enough

If you mainly need autocomplete and the occasional chat question in your editor and want to stay with VS Code, JetBrains or Visual Studio, Copilot Pro is the cheapest solid option.

When Cursor is worth it

Cursor plays to its strengths when the AI should handle larger tasks in the project on its own. Keep an eye on the usage allowance: if you run long agent sessions every day, you'll quickly end up on the pricier tiers.

What about Claude Code?

Claude Pro (€21.42) includes Claude Code for the terminal – for many developers an alternative that doubles as a full chat subscription.
