In the browser: profile → Settings → Account → Manage subscription → Cancel subscription. If you subscribed on an iPhone or Android, cancel in the subscription settings of the App Store or Google Play. Plus stays active until the end of the paid period.

Cancel ChatGPT Plus

ChatGPT Plus costs €23.00 a month. You can cancel at any time, effective at the end of the current billing period – where depends on how you subscribed.

In the browser (chatgpt.com)

Click your profile at the bottom left, open Settings and choose Account. Under “Manage subscription” you can cancel Plus. This only works for subscriptions you took out directly with OpenAI.

On the iPhone or iPad

Apple manages App Store subscriptions: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → ChatGPT → Cancel Subscription.

On Android

Cancel Google Play subscriptions in the Play Store app: profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → ChatGPT → Cancel.

What happens after cancelling?

You keep Plus until the end of the period you've already paid for. After that your account automatically switches to the free version; your chats are kept.

Alternative: cheaper rather than nothing

If Plus is too expensive for you but you use ChatGPT regularly, ChatGPT Go (€8.00) is a cheaper step in between. If you stay on Plus, the annual plan saves €46.00 a year.
